  10. ANGELOU was asked to compose a poem for the festivities on Jan.
  11. 20. Angelou, 65, a former dancer, civil rights activist and
  12. professor, earned a place in American letters with such raw,
  13. heartfelt accounts of life in the rural South as I Know Why the
  14. Caged Bird Sings. Her Inaugural poem is sure to be equally
  15. evocative.
